A New Normal: Travel 2021

Join me as we begin again- as we discover a new way to travel- a safer- more cautious way. May we appreciate every single day we have and not forget what isolation and fear and separation required of us.

We begin the day with a great breakfast at the Marriott Courtyard and re-packing all the luggage. Given Robs ability to get us our rooms at the Marriott family rate- savings was $400! We load the luggage in the Toyota Highlander and head to turn in the rental care at Hertz. Once there we ask for a shuttle or a cab and they tell us they will gladly take us to the port for no charge! Cab savings $20! We head for lunch and tour the ship. We finally are able to get into our room- WOW WOW! We have a ton of space in our Family Veranda Stateroom- all 593 Sq feet of it! We have a great living area with a small table and a huge balcony. Dinner was amazing although we were disappointed that our table for 8 only had 5  as only one person joined us. Our dinner companion is Carole- a widow of 15 years who sails always alone. We are hopeful that some others may join tomorrow. We are most likely the 4 youngest on the ship! The girls searched for younger folks but the staff is about it. We see the show which was pretty good and Debbie and Lilly head to gamble - Debbie looses only $5 and Lilly cant figure out the machines so lessons will be in order tomorrow. We look forward to enjoying our Persian Garden passes and relaxing on the hot stone chairs. All in all a great first day. Total savings $420!
