A New Normal: Travel 2021

Join me as we begin again- as we discover a new way to travel- a safer- more cautious way. May we appreciate every single day we have and not forget what isolation and fear and separation required of us.

Wednesday May 16

We begin with a beautiful breakfast brought to our porch, hard boiled eggs, lunch meat, yogart, fruit, pasteries, and orange juice. Kerry must fight off two cats who would like to share our breakfast as Karla said leave them alone. Team Washington takes off for the black sand beach. I take the day to walk around and rest. I eat lunch nearby of backed feta cheese with peppers and tomatoes and spinich pie- amazing. The sand on the beach was hot and the water cold but Team Washington had a great time.

We see Georges Ferry sail by and finally he makes it to the Villa with the Washington’s as his guide. After being entertained by his drama we head out for a lovely dinner. Ollie Mr Kerry had an octopus, I’m sorry I did not take a photo for you. Kerry and Karla take a tour to the other side of the hill and photo the cats for her version of a calender. George and I venture back to the villa getting gelato on the way. We are enjoying the evening when we discover a frail old man who had been begging at the top of the hill earlier had made his way to the front of our villa. Then after fooling a man by giving him post cards and asking for money he enters the door to our section. He goes into the cleaning room which is apparently where he is going to sleep. We decide we will clue the office in when we get our breakfast. Ollie I’m posting alot of photos for you today including the cable cars and donkeys-maybe you can remember from Aunt BB wedding. From the new port where the cruise ships dock you may take either the cable cars or ride the donkeys up this huge hill. Both cost 6 euros each way.
