A New Normal: Travel 2021

Join me as we begin again- as we discover a new way to travel- a safer- more cautious way. May we appreciate every single day we have and not forget what isolation and fear and separation required of us.

Scene as we leave the harbor

This port serves Glassglow. I decide to stay back and have a reading and massage day. After all these days I’m ready for relaxation. I get a massage, read a book Steve gave me, and take a long nap.

Lily comes into the room with her jacket full of treasure. This time it came from the sea- bottles, and rocks, and pots, and tiles of all shapes and colors. She found a free tour, went to church and jumped a sea wall to get her treasures.

Steve and Susan had gone to Loch Loma and a Wool mill. They return with stories of beautiful scenery and dogs chasing ducks through obstacle courses. They also encountered some interesting and some not so well behaved adults on their tour- one just never knows.

No one chose Glasgow but we all had stories to share and a fun day.

June 31 Sea Day

A beautiful morning at sea as we pass through the islands atop Scotland and move from the Irish sea into the Atlantic and North Sea. Dolphins follow the boat jumping for joy. The peace and quiet remind me of the Fjords of Alaska- still waters, wildlife and beautify mountains.

Lily and I grab lunch at a makeshift British pub on board and tonight is formal night. Best part is the Beatles are preforming again- we will have to rush dinner and go and sit as it is standing room only in the theater.

A relaxing day.
