Seas were rough this morning and poor Tina struggled with
nausea all day. After breakfast in the dining room Lilly, Becky, and Debbie
headed back to the room to find Tina struggling. The weather was fairly cool
all day and the sun has yet to really let us know it is still here. Debbie
watched a glass blowing show on the top deck while Tina and Becky went to a
lecture on the history of Portugal. Lilly explored a couple of little workshops
and Bingo. Exciting at bingo was an older man who lost because he was too late
realizing he had a bingo until the next number was called- way after another
couple had claimed the prize he jumped in and caused a scene. Right before
lunch we all guessed the size of the stone in a ring hoping to win a prize but
no luck. Lunch was in the dining room again and Tina had BBQ chicken, Debbie
had spaghetti while Becky and Lilly choose smoked pork loin (which looked like
dried ham). For the second day we convinced Lilly to give up the pork and order
a second entree, which she wisely did. After lunch off to the Persian Gardens
for our nap on hot stone chairs. It’s popular at that time but again we got the
last four chairs! 2:00 in the afternoon does not exist on board as once again
time moved forward an hour while we napped. We are now 3 hours ahead of
Missouri.
After an hour Becky and Debbie headed to the casino for more
Ultimate Texas Hold-em- neither so lucky this afternoon. In addition Debbie
messed up the safe in the room and security had to be called to open. Tina went
to the Solarium to try to ward off sea-sickness again while Lilly continues to
enjoy exploring the ship. Before dinner we used Debbie’s three drink coupons
from Captains Club- savings today $12. Dinner was nice and Tina got better and
polished off two flank steaks and three desserts!

After dinner it was cards and then Motown trivia and
dancing. We had a great time dancing together to old tunes, recruiting our
tablemate to join us. Becky ran into the Bingo staff person and low and behold
knew him for a cruise that she and Zac had been on years ago- he remembered
her- small world! Debbie, Becky and Tina laughed remembering how much David
loved dancing, throwing his hands in the air, whirling Debbie around the dance floor
until she would nearly fall. He would sweat so much grabbing towels, smiling
from ear to ear. Debbie recalled how they once won the twist contest on a
cruise- so long ago.
We also laughed
recalling how everyone on our wedding cruise clapped as we paraded around the
ship taking photos with three little adorable girls all dressed alike. Sweet
memories. Midnight snacks and off to bed well past midnight.
