A New Normal: Travel 2021

Join me as we begin again- as we discover a new way to travel- a safer- more cautious way. May we appreciate every single day we have and not forget what isolation and fear and separation required of us.

May 13, 2015 Reflections

What a wonderful trip we have had. From a great visit in Ft Lauderdale with the Lewis clan to a restful 7 days crossing the Atlantic, and ending with 6 amazing ports the Azores, Lisbon, Cadiz, Malaga, Alicante, and finally Barcelona.  The top 10 lessons and highlights are shared on our return home.

1. Lilly is officially a member of the family and can travel with us anytime. She fits in and on many occasions reminded us of David the adventurer.

2. Do not sleep in a bunk under Becky; she will rain on you as she requires watering each evening.

3. Do not give Becky chocolate; she sleeps on it leaving sheets quite interesting

4. Becky and Tina love room service!

5. May transatlantic cruises mean few children, and few non-retired folks, yet the few young people gravitate together and relationships can still be found for a couple single ones.

6. David has new sandboxes to explore in the Azores and a new park in Cadiz

7. For Debbie the sun can still rise and are beautiful even if different, and every sunset is a reminder of an amazing 20 years, 45 cruise earlier

8. Lilly is now a seasoned cruiser and European traveler showing no fear and a great sense of adventure!

9. Everyone’s favorite port is different

10. On shore meals provide great culture and relaxation for Tina, Becky and Debbie and additional shopping and exploration time for Lilly.

Total trip savings via OIB method: more than $3300!! Enough for another cruise!!
